An aerosol generating article. The article comprises a rod of aerosol generating material having a first end and a second end opposite to the first end, a filter attached at the first end of the rod, a paper wrap wound around the rod so as to provide an outer layer, and a non-ignitable insulation provided at the second end of the rod. The insulation is arranged to prevent ignition of the aerosol generating material at the second end, and the insulation allows transmission of microwave radiation such that the aerosol generating material at the second end can be heated by an external source of microwave radiation

A packet for smoking articles is disclosed. The packet comprises an outer casing comprising a main body and a lid. The main body comprises: a front panel; a rear panel; a bottom panel; a first side panel; and a second side panel which cooperatively define a main compartment having an opening opposite to the bottom panel. A hinge is formed between the lid and the rear panel of the main body such that the lid is moveable between an open position and a closed position. The packet further comprises a substantially cuboidal pouch comprising: a front major portion; a rear major portion; a top minor portion; a bottom minor portion; a first side portion; and a second side portion, wherein the pouch is received within the main compartment such that the pouch protrudes from the main compartment through the opening, wherein the pouch is completely contained within the outer casing when the lid is in the closed position, and wherein the pouch comprises a cellulose-based wrapper. A tear tape attached to the pouch and arranged to extend around the pouch in a transverse direction with respect to the length of the pouch such that the tear tape is positioned above the hinge. The tear tape is configured to be pulled by a user to separate a top section of the pouch from a bottom section of the pouch.

The invention provides an energy storage assembly device for an aerosol generation device, comprising a housing intended for housing a battery; a vent component configured to vent pressurized gases from within the housing upon a predetermined pressure in the housing ; whereby the housing has an elongated shape ; and the housing comprises on a circumference of the housing at a first extremity which is free on the inside from being filled by the battery, a first plurality of holes blinded by a blinding member, the first plurality of holes and the blinding member each being part of the vent component.

A method for manufacturing an aerosol generation device. The method comprises: forming an intermediate sub-assembly by fixing a heater sub-assembly against a power-and-control sub-assembly, the heater sub-assembly comprising a heater and a heating chamber wherein the heater is arranged in the heater sub-assembly to supply heat to the heating chamber, and the power-and-control sub-assembly comprising an electrical power source and control circuitry configured to control the supply of electrical power from the electrical power source to the heater; attaching an access sub-assembly to the intermediate sub-assembly, the access sub-assembly comprising means for opening and closing access to the heating chamber; and attaching a housing sub-assembly to the intermediate sub-assembly, the housing sub-assembly comprising a housing for at least a part of the intermediate sub-assembly. Also, a power-and-control sub-assembly, a sub-assembly comprising a heater sub-assembly fixed against a power-and-control sub-assembly, and an aerosol generation device.

The aerosol generation device comprises an electrical power source; a heating chamber; a heater arranged to supply heat to the heating chamber; control circuitry configured to control the supply of electrical power from the electrical power source to the heater; a frame; and a housing having an internal volume containing the electrical power source, the heating chamber, the heater, the control circuity and the frame. The frame is arranged between a first volume of the internal volume containing the heater and the heating chamber, and a second volume of the internal volume containing the electrical power source. An aerosol generation device comprising a receptacle for receiving a consumable comprising an aerosol substrate; a heating arrangement for heating the aerosol substrate; and a controller. The controller comprises a monitoring unit for monitoring an observable indicative of a moisture content of the aerosol substrate during a heating of the aerosol substrate; a detection unit for detecting, based on the monitored observable, an indication that the moisture content is different from a predetermined moisture content; and a signaling unit for generating, based on the detected indication, a control signal for notifying a user of the aerosol generation device that the consumable does not have the required moisture content.

An aerosol generation device (2) comprising an absorber (14) positioned adjacent to a reservoir (9) is disclosed. The reservoir (9) comprises an aerosol forming substrate (28) which is a suspension of a solid fraction and a liquid fraction. The absorber (14) is configured to separate the liquid fraction from the solid fraction by absorbing the liquid fraction. A heater (6) is provided in thermal contact with the absorber, thereby heating the liquid fraction of the aerosol forming substrate (28). A controller is also provided that is configured to control a supply of power to the heater (6). A method of assembling a component for use in the aerosol generation device (2) is also disclosed.
