An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member for bearing a toner image, a developing device for supplying toner to a circumferential surface of the image bearing member, a toner container for supplying the toner to the developing device, a sheet conveyance path for conveying a sheet, and a housing. The housing accommodates the image bearing member, the developing device and the toner container. The housing has a first surface and a second surface different from the first surface. The toner container is taken out from the interior of the housing to the outside of the housing through the first surface. The developing device is taken out from the interior of the housing to the outside of the housing through the second surface.

A fixing device (12) includes a fixing member, a pressure member (32), and a separating unit (35). The pressure member (32) is rotatably located and in a pressure contact with the fixing member to form a fixing nip (N). The separating unit (35) is configured to separate a sheet (S) from the fixing member. The sheet (S) is attached on the fixing member when passing through the fixing nip (N). The separating unit (35) includes a sliding member (40), a claw member (41), and a turning mechanism (42). The sliding member (40) is located in a state of contacting a surface of the fixing member. The claw member (41) runs toward the fixing nip (N) from the sliding member (40). The claw member (41) has a distal end portion. The claw member (41) is located in a state where the distal end portion contacts the surface of the fixing member. The turning mechanism (42) reciprocates the sliding member (40) and the claw member (41) along a rotation direction of the fixing member.

A fixing device (13) includes a cylindrical heat roller (31), a heating element (32) provided inside the heat roller (31) and configured to apply heat to the heat roller (31), a pressure roller (33) configured to be pressed against the heat roller (31) to form, with the heat roller (31), a nip area (N) where a recording paper sheet (P) is to be nipped, and an auxiliary roller (34) provided inside the heat roller (31) and configured to be pressed toward the pressure roller (33) with a peripheral wall of the heat roller (31) in between. An outer peripheral surface of the auxiliary roller (34) pressed against an inner peripheral surface of the heat roller (31) is formed into an inverted crown shape so that an outside diameter of the auxiliary roller (34) gradually decreases from both axial ends of the auxiliary roller (34) toward an axial center thereof.

A cleaning device (19) has housing (40), cleaning member (43), pair of bearing portions (53), toner receiving seal (50), and end seal (51). The housing (40) is formed with opening (40a) and waste toner retaining portion (40b). The cleaning member (43) is rotatably borne by the pair of bearing portions (53) at both ends of rotation axis. The toner receiving seal (50) is disposed facing to entire area in the longitudinal direction of the cleaning member (43), and extends to be laid across each end portion of the cleaning member and outer periphery of the bearing portion (53). The bearing portion (53) has the same outer diameter in a contact portion (55) where the toner receiving seal (50) contacts, as outer diameter of the cleaning member (43). The end seal (51) is disposed, in a gap between the housing (40) and each of the bearing portions (53), facing to the contact portion (55) with the toner receiving seal (50) interposed therebetween, and prevents leakage of waste toner from both end portions of the housing.
