A method for controlling a hearing device (10) comprises: receiving an audio stream (40) in the hearing device (10); processing the audio stream (40) with the hearing device (10) into a processed audio stream (46) with at least one actuator (44) of the hearing device (10), which at least one actuator (44) is controlled by an actual set of actuator strengths (47) and which control how the at least one actuator (44) processes the audio stream (40); outputting the processed audio stream (46) with the hearing device (10) to a user of the hearing device (10); inputting the audio stream (40) into at least one acoustic environment classifier (48) of the hearing device (10), which outputs at least one acoustic environment classification value (50) indicative of an acoustic environment of the user; determining a new set of actuator strengths (54) based on the at least one acoustic environment classification value (50); receiving at least one input stream (40, 42, 58) determined from sensor data of a sensor of the hearing device (10); determining at least one change rate (62) for the at least one input stream (40, 42, 58); determining at least one change parameter (64) for an actuator change from the actual set of actuator strengths (47) to the new set of actuator strengths (54); and controlling the at least one actuator (44), such that the actual set of actuator strengths (47) changes to the new set of actuator strengths (54) in dependence of the at least one change parameter (64).

A charger (10) for electrically recharging a battery of a hearing device (9), comprising a charger casing (2) with a basic body portion (3) and a first lid (4). An electronics module (6) is inserted into the first compartment (5) and comprises a power management circuitry (7) and a charging circuitry (8). The electronics module (6) comprises a second compartment (14) that is configured to receive a first portion of the hearing device (15), which first portion of the hearing device (15) is configured to receive the electric power from the power transfer elements (13) in an operating state of the charger. A method for operating a hearing system (10) is provided. The hearing system (10) comprises a hearing device (12) configured to be worn at an ear of a user, a user device (14) communicatively coupled to the hearing device (12) and comprising a camera (36) and a display (30). The hearing device (12) comprises at least one sound input module (20) for generating an audio signal indicative of a sound detected in an environment of the hearing device (12), a first processing unit (40) for modifying the audio signal, and at least one sound output module (22) for outputting the modified audio signal. The method comprises: receiving image data from the camera (36), the image data being representative for a scene (80) in front of the camera (36); receiving an audio signal from the at least one sound input module (20), the audio signal being representative for the acoustic environment of the hearing device (12) substantially at a time the image data have been captured, wherein the acoustic environment comprises at least one audio source and wherein the audio signal is at least in part representative for a sound from the audio source; determining at least one visual object (88) as the audio source, within the scene (80) from the image data and the audio signal.
