A cell handling apparatus includes: a container; a camera; a head; and a correction control unit. The container includes a translucent and shape-deformable bottom surface that holds a cell, and a state checking portion for recognizing the shape deformation. A tip is attached to the head and the head executes an operation of approaching the bottom surface from above to suck a cell on the bottom surface and an operation of discharging a cell toward the bottom surface. The correction control unit is configured to correct position coordinates of the head. The correction control unit is configured to detect contact of a tip end of the tip with the bottom surface based on a state change of the state checking portion in an image of the bottom surface captured by the camera. |
