The coin recognition device includes: an image acquisition unit configured to acquire an input image of a coin to be recognized; a reference angle acquisition unit configured to acquire a reference angle having a best matching score among matching scores obtained by performing matching between the input image and a pre-registered first reference image in increments of a first shift angle; a rotation angle determination unit configured to determine a rotation angle of the coin based on matching scores obtained by performing matching between the input image and a pre-registered second reference image at least at the reference angle and at a designated angle shifted from the reference angle by a specific angle; and a recognition unit configured to recognize the coin using the rotation angle of the coin determined by the rotation angle determination unit.

A money storage device includes a pair of plates having accumulation surfaces on which banknotes are accumulated in a support posture in which the pair of plates is arranged in a first direction, and a pusher that pushes the banknotes accumulated on the accumulation surfaces in a second direction crossing the first direction, to store the banknotes in a storage bag. The present disclosure provides a sheet recognition unit, a sheet handling device, a sheet recognition method, and a sheet recognition program capable of identifying various photoluminescent inks accurately. Provided is a sheet recognition unit including: a light source capable of irradiating a sheet on which a photoluminescent ink to be recognized is printed, with at least excitation light; a light receiving unit that receives photoluminescence emitted from the sheet irradiated with the excitation light and outputs a photoluminescence detection signal; and a recognition unit that recognizes the sheet based on a photoluminescent image of the photoluminescent ink to be recognized and a learned model, the photoluminescent image being generated from the photoluminescence detection signal output from the light receiving unit.

Provided are a sheet recognition unit and a sheet recognition method capable of simultaneously acquiring visible range data and infrared range data without using a filter configuration that is difficult to manufacture. A sheet recognition unit includes a light source capable of emitting light having a specific wavelength to a sheet to be recognized, a light receiving unit that receives light coming from the sheet to be recognized, based on the light from the light source and outputs a light detection signal, and a recognition unit that recognizes the sheet to be recognized, using the light detection signal output from the light receiving unit. A cash management apparatus includes: a communication interface configured to acquire information of cash stored in a cash handling apparatus and information of cash kept outside the cash handling apparatus; a memory configured to store the information of the cash stored in the cash handling apparatus, and store the information of the cash kept outside the cash handling apparatus as information of cash kept in a virtual safe; and processing circuitry configured to output the information, of the cash kept in the virtual safe, which is stored in the memory, to notify a user. A plurality of pieces of information, each of which is information of cash kept in each of a plurality of virtual safes, is stored in the memory.
