A money storage device includes: a housing including a first storage space; a second storage unit forming a second storage space independent of the first storage space; and an endless transport belt configured to transport money stored in the first storage space to an exit of the housing. The transport belt revolves in a vertical plane along the inner wall of the housing that surrounds the first storage space. The second storage unit is inside a belt path of the transport belt, and discharges money stored in the second storage space into the housing. The transport belt transports the money discharged from the second storage unit to the exit.

A cash transport method performed by a management apparatus to optimize a quantity of cash stored in a cash handling apparatus, includes: determining whether cash transport for the cash handling apparatus is necessary; determining details of the cash transport including a denomination and a quantity of cash to be transported by the cash transport; acquiring, from each of a plurality of moving objects performing cash transport, position information and information on details of cash transport that can be handled by the moving object; and selecting, from among the plurality of moving objects, a moving object to head to an installation place of the cash handling apparatus to perform the cash transport, based on the installation place of the cash handling apparatus, the details of cash transport required for the cash handling apparatus, a current position of each moving object, and the details of cash transport that can be handled by each moving object.

A coin handling apparatus according to the present invention pays out a coin corresponding to a requested number of coins to be paid out based on a dispensing instruction. The coin handling apparatus includes: a multiple denomination storage unit that stores coins of a plurality of denominations; and a control unit that, in a case where it is necessary to pay out a coin of at least one denomination among the plurality of denominations stored in the multiple denomination storage unit, determines the number of coins to be fed out from the multiple denomination storage unit based on the requested number and performs a feeding out process of feeding out the coins by the determined number from the multiple denomination storage unit.

A money storage device includes a pair of plates having accumulation surfaces on which banknotes are accumulated in a support posture in which the pair of plates is arranged in a first direction, and a pusher that pushes the banknotes accumulated on the accumulation surfaces in a second direction crossing the first direction, to store the banknotes in a storage bag. The pair of plates changes from the support posture to a passage posture. The banknotes pushed by the pusher is guided by the accumulation surfaces of the pair of plates in the passage posture while passing between the pair of plates, and is stored in the storage bag.

The method for controlling a money handling apparatus includes: causing the money handling apparatus to store money in a first storage that stores and feeds money; causing the money handling apparatus to store money in a second storage that stores and feeds money; and causing the money handling apparatus to selectively perform a first collection process or a second collection process when performing a collection process of collecting money from the money handling apparatus. The first collection process is a process in which the money handling apparatus dispenses, to an outlet, money fed from the first storage and money fed from the second storage. The second collection process is a process in which the money handling apparatus consolidates money in the money handling apparatus into the first storage by moving money from the second storage to the first storage.
